  • Weird dreams and strange musical tastes

I had a very strange dream the other night. I think all this talk of terrorism in the news has had an effect on my unconscious.
In my dream I was forced to carry a package by an unknown, sinister individual. And I had to carry it around a town that I wasn't familiar with, fearing that it might go off at any minute. But eventually I worked up the courage to look inside. When I did so, to my surprise I found nothing except pieces of straw, pencils and harmless objects. I'm no dream expert (or an expert on anything!), but it would be good to find out what the experts said about that ...
As for my musical tastes, I heard a song called 'Hallelujah' sung by kd Lang on the radio the other day. I really liked it. I'm not a blouse or particularly religious or anything, but I really liked it ... eeek! See that bears game last week!

  • Schizo Wednesdays

I love Wednesdays and I hate Wednesdays...
Early on Wednesday you have a dreadful feeling in your gut. Because the newspaper deadline is at 5pm. More often than not Im struggling to find stories and so end up doing more work on a wednesday than I do the whole rest of the week combined!
But once 5pm (or sometimes 6) comes along and the paper is done and put to bed, then Im happy. You dancer. All finished. Clunk Click.
There's sometimes that 'you-could-have-chased-up-that-juicy-story-if-youd-wanted-to-but-couldn't-be-*rsed-and-so-the-paper's-crap-again' feeling ... but I only get that sometimes. And to be quite honest I don't think anybody reads the bloody thing anyway!
The girlfriend is away out for an indian tonight with her mates. So Im going to slob around and watch TV. Unfortunately Ive been doing that for too long a time and so now Im a fat b*stard. But aren't all 30-year-olds fat boys?
Now looking forward to the weekend. The mighty Dons (that's Aberdeen) are taking on Rangers in the third game of the SPL season on Sunday, so I'll be off round my mates house to watch that, accompanied by about 100 beers! Something to look forward to. Ya beauty! Hopefully the orange-faced-maestro manager Jimmy Calderwood can pull a win out of the bag!! A few injuries though.

  • My First Post!

    Hello all!
And welcome to my first ever 'blog' post.
Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Steve and Im a 30 year old journalist based in Scotland.
I'm 6 ft 2, good looking with a great sense of humour ... oh hang on, this isn't one of those personal ads...
Anyway, a bit of my history. After finishing secondary school, I went away to University to study Biochemistry. Enjoyed that, but didn't fancy playing around with pipettes and test tubes forever, so I went for the journalism side of things. Started off as a sub-editor, before becoming a sports writer and now I'm a news reporter.
Got itchy feet a few years ago and took off to Australia and New Zealand for a couple of years travelling.
I got back about a year ago and ever since I have been staying at home with my mum and dad. To be honest, I think I got all my ambition out of my system when I was away and now I'm pretty happy satying at home! It's not ideal for taking the ladies back, but it's cheap!
Anyway I hope to share some of my thoughts with you on this blog (if anyone actually ever reads this p*sh!). And in so doing, you can share in the rollercoaster that is 'the life of a 30 year old mummy's boy'!!! Catch you soon.
